Female paedophile, 26, breaches court order for third time – Daily Mail

A female paedophile who was once jailed for giving two underage schoolgirls love bites has breached her court order for the third time.

Serena Marie Emily Ransom, 26, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) at Teesside Crown Court yesterday.

Judge Jonathan Carroll said Ransom, from Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, had ‘a track record for non-compliance’.

Nigel Soppitt, mitigating, said that while this was his client’s third breach of an order, she had complied for the past three-and-a-half years.

He asked that any prison sentence be suspended.

The judge said the matter would need to be adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Judge Carroll told Ransom: ‘It’s in your interest to attend that report, you should return for sentence on February 26 this year.’

Ransom was 20 when she was placed on the sex offenders register for 10-years and given a SHPO for the same length of time.

She has previously appeared in court for two breaches of that order, which banned her from work or unsupervised contact with under-16s.

Ransome first breached her SHPO after creating a Facebook account using another name and appeared at court in April 2017 over the matter.

But she was hauled back into court again after breaching the order a second time, this time for speaking to a five-year-old boy in Middlesbrough town centre.

Ansab Shan, prosecuting, told the court that Ransom had ‘approached’ the child – who cannot be named for legal reasons – in a Sports Direct store where she proceeded to ‘ruffle’ the child’s hair and said hello.

He said: ‘By approaching the child, she was in breach of her court order.’

The court heard that the child was with a relative at the time who recognised Ransom after seeing her picture in the media and immediately took the child away before contacting the police.

The defendant was convicted by a jury in 2015 after making sexual advances towards the two underage girls, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

She was found guilty of one charge of sexual assault, one of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and two of sexual activity with a child.

Speaking at the time, Judge Peter Armstrong said the first and youngest victim was ‘particularly vulnerable’ when Ransom sexually assaulted her by giving her love bites.

She then gave the second, older girl love bites, kissed her on the lips, and asked her to touch her intimately.

For those offences, Ransom was sentenced to 18 months in a Young Offender Institution.
