Panaji: In a crackdown on a an inter-state pedophila racket, Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) arrested a Mumbai-ibased man from Goa. The man was arrested for sexually abusing children, filming those acts and selling the obscene videos over the Dark Net.
CBI has reportedly identified around 25-30 victims, both males and females age-group ranging from 12 to 21 years.
The CBI First Information Report (FIR) states that the man was involved in the sexual exploitation of children in Maharashtra and Goa. He recorded these acts using mobile phones, digital cameras and other gadgets. The photographs and videos were then sold by the accused on the dark net sites. The accused also used social media platforms such as Instagrams and Whatspp to get in touch with individuals abroad to share content in huge quantity.
Reportedly, the accused also used emails to stay in touch with pedophile communities internationally. Further he used the internet to access cloud storage services in order to store the illegal content and accessed free photo-sharing websites based in foreign countries.
CBI registered as case against him on June 22, 2020 and had received inputs about the pedophile network operating in Goa. According to the CBO, the accused has been in contact with people abroad also to sell the pornographic videos of pedophilia with children.
During the investigation and searches, a laptop, a mobile phone, pen-drive and hard-drive were recovered.
The accused hails from Mumbai, after completing a course in hotel management, had sought a job in Goa where he worked as a chef.
